create magazine launch party
tonight i went to the launch party for create magazine atlanta. create magazine is based in florida, where they started out having 2 different editions: 1 in central florida, 1 in south florida. each magazine focuses on the local creative scene. this summer they opened in 18 new markets, among them: atlanta, phoenix, boston, detroit. i became involved with the magazine when they asked me to design 2 of the feature articles for the premiere atlanta issue. they use all different local talent to write and design the articles for each issue, which i think is an interesting concept, rather than having writers and designers on staff. the magazine seems to be doing well; recently the 2nd issue came out in all the new markets. i really enjoyed working on the 1st issue, and it’s always exciting to get work published.
anyhoo, the party was fun. mingling and music and munchies. they had glasses made with the logo on them, and every 1 got to take some home. i have a mild obsession with glasses, so that made me happy.
