london, 2012

congratulations to the wonderful city of london for winning the bid to host the 2012 olympics. london in 1 of my favourite cities, so i’m really happy that it won the bid. thankfully, the ioc still believes that london can deliver a safe olympics, even despite the recent terrorist attacks. some londoners don’t want the olympics there because they don’t want london to become even more of a terrorist target, but i’m sure the city will do everything in its power to make london extremely safe during the games, probably even safer than during other times. and, from having the games in atlanta in 1996, i know that the olympics bring droves of people to the city [you cannot imagine an olympic crowd until you’ve actually been in 1], and that’s always good for the economy. so yay for london.

as i was reading about the olympics, i came across the website of the british olympic association. i really like the boa’s logo. i enjoy not only the look, but also thought process behind combining the union jack and a lion, which is the national animal of england and on the national coat of arms.
