Ingredients

2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 cup butter or margarine
1 egg, beaten
1 teaspoon grated orange peel
3/4 cup orange juice
1 1/2 cups light raisins
1 1/2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries, chopped

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Grease 9x5x3 inch loaf pan.

  3. Sifted flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda into a large bowl.

  4. Cut in butter until mixture is crumbly.

  5. Add egg, orange peel and orange juice all at once, stir just until mixture is even, just until moist.

  6. Fold in raisins and cranberries.

  7. Spoon prepared pan.

  8. Bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.

  9. Remove from pan, cool on wire rack.
