Ingredients

2 cups packed brown sugar
3/4 cup milk (or 1 5-ounce can evaporated milk)
3/4 stick butter (or Oleo)
1 teaspoon vanilla
chopped nuts (optional)
1 cup peanut butter

Directions

  1. Butter pan or plate, set aside.

  2. Combine in sauce pan, brown sugar and milk.

  3. Mix in pan and heat to "soft ball stage" or 240 degrees on candy thermometer.

  4. Remove from heat and add butter, vanilla, chopped nuts and peanut butter.

  5. Beat, then pour into prepared pan.

  6. Refrigerate.
